with so much trouble in the LBC...Where to start? Things have been nuts lately. It all sort of crept up on me in that way where you think nothing is really happening in your life until you finally sit down to write a long-put-off letter to a friend and you realize everything is different and new and you were so caught up living it that you didn't even see it happen. it is at that desk, with that pen and that paper that i've find myself writing this. Most of it is unrelated to tattooing, but since tattooing is more or less my life, i figure it all fits in somehow. Details shall we?
Firstly, my girlfriend and I are the proud new parents of a horse. She likes to say we gave birth to her. I find that vision far less pleasing than she seems to. Never the less, it's here and i plan to be the best father i can be, which should be comical since i know dick-all about horses. i cant even remember what kind she is. the white and grey kind? My girl says it's a good one, so i'll trust her. She doesn't bite me when i feed her carrots and she lets me ride her without throwing me to the ground so thus far i'm pretty stoked on it. Admittedly i'd be more excited if the horse fed me carrots, but hopefully that trick will come with time. Anyway, It was a very welcome pick me up in an otherwise cold-as-fuck, depressing winter. if you'd like to see pictures of the horse,
send me an email and i'd be happy to oblige. i've got a ton of them.
A few months ago i teamed with up with fashion icon
Marc Jacobs Intl to design some t-shirts for a charity in [my former hometown of] Savannah Georgia. For those of you who might not know, that is a pretty fucking big deal. I like to downplay it, cause bragging is a bad look, but my girlfriend always reminds me that i should mention it, so this one's for you boo. Anywho, amazingly we managed to raise almost $200,000 and very soon they will begin construction on a skatepark that's been 10 years in the works. Sure, we didn't cancer or anything, but it's still a pretty rad thing and i was honored to be a part of it. I look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future.
Tattooing...
Man, shit got real busy real quickly. For the last few months i've been working pretty sparsely, taking some time to travel and work on other projects. Seems that's come to an abrupt end. Work has been nonstop for the last few weeks. Ton's of big projects...bigger than I usually even like to take on. It's a pretty fun challenge though, and i'm really happy with the stuff i've been doing. Everyone at Fat Ram's has been amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better shop or a better bunch of people to work with and for. Very much looking forward to the future here.
